PAC leads key projects that support our students, teachers, and staff while enhancing our school community.
These initiatives reflect the dedication of parents and volunteers.
The community garden at Morning Star comes to life each spring with the help of PAC organized support, where students actively participate by planting in the greenhouse and planting beds.
Morning Star families then help maintain the garden throughout the summer and the community is encouraged to visit the garden and harvest fresh produce.
In the fall of 2024, the garden was visited by Chef Eduardo Garcia, who met with students to discuss the importance of growing our own food. To celebrate the harvest, Chef Garcia made salsa using the tomatoes grown in the garden, which was then served for lunch, offering students a delicious, hands-on experience with the fruits of their labor.
The PAC leads the creation of our school’s annual yearbook, inspiring creativity and collaboration throughout the school community. Students play a vital role in the process, with the entire school voting on the theme, a fifth grade cover art contest, and a dedicated Yearbook Club for fourth and fifth graders who help design many of the book's pages. This project highlights student involvement and celebrates the memories of the school year.
Yearbooks go on sale each year from January to early April and are typically distributed the last week of school.
To make the yearbook truly special, we rely on parents to contribute photos that capture the moments and milestones of the school year. Please send your photos to morningstaryearbookpictures@gmail.com. Photos are due by the end of February each year.
