Board members have voting rights, help shape the strategic vision for PAC-funded programs, and support the committees that bring those programs to life — from community events to fundraising to school-wide enrichment.
PAC Board members:
Meet once a month

Play a meaningful role in making Morning Star an even better place for our kids
Board positions are filled through an annual nomination and voting process. Key dates are outlined below:
Nominations open: End of January
Nominations due: March 31
Voting takes place: April
New board members announced: May PAC meeting
Board terms are from August 1 to July 31.
The overall leader and primary point of contact for the school.
The President runs PAC meetings, aligns the board, and ensures all committees and events stay on track.
Key responsibilities:
Serve as the primary contact for the Principal
Lead all PAC meetings and create the meeting agendas
Support all PAC committees and board members to keep things running smoothly
Represent Morning Star PAC at any outside conferences or events
Great for someone who enjoys organizing, facilitating, partnering with the principal, and keeping the big picture moving.
A “President-in-training” who shadows and supports the President.
This role prepares you to step into the President role the following year
.
Key responsibilities:
Learn how the PAC operates by shadowing the President
Attend meetings and help support committees as needed
Step in to run meetings if the President is absent
Great for someone who wants to learn the ropes before leading and enjoys supporting and collaborating.
The financial steward of the PAC.
The Treasurer manages the PAC’s finances, including its budget and financial reporting.
Key responsibilities:
Oversee all PAC funds, deposits, and expenditures
Prepare and present monthly financial statements and the annual budget
Ensure spending stays within approved budgets
Work with teachers/staff on funding requests
Maintain accurate financial records
Ideal for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, have accounting experience, and possess strong budget management skills.
The PAC’s information hub.
This role ensures parents are informed and maintains clear and organized communication.
Key responsibilities:
Take minutes at PAC meetings and share them with members
Manage coordination of the monthly PAC newsletter
Primary liaison for PAC email communications with the school office
Keep the website/Facebook, or other communication platforms updated
Manage and oversee electronic voting
Great for someone who excels in writing, communication, and keeping information transparent and accessible.
The person who makes volunteering easy and organized.
This role connects parents with resources to support them throughout the year.
Key responsibilities:
Recruit volunteers for PAC and school events
Manage volunteer sign-ups
Coordinate with committee chairs and teachers to fill volunteer needs
Communicate with volunteers leading up to and on the day of events
Great for someone who enjoys organizing people and building community involvement.
The role focused on building school spirit, enrichment, and appreciation.
Key responsibilities:
Organize enrichment activities, including after school programming
Plan schoolwide events that build connection and community
Lead Staff Appreciation initiatives
Coordinate with teachers, staff, and the board to develop community-building programs
Ideal for individuals who enjoy crafting engaging, meaningful experiences for students and staff.
Leads the significant fundraising efforts that support Morning Star students.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate and run the primary fundraiser of the year (Fun Run)
Support and oversee other smaller fundraising events throughout the year
Help ensure fundraising efforts align with PAC's financial needs
Review monthly bank statements as a financial safeguard
Ideal for individuals who enjoy event planning, organization, and motivating the community.
